The roundtable, that took place on the 26th of July at the Fundación CICLO, gathered persons from different nationalities and with different professional backgrounds in order to talk about the subject.

-A general introduction to the subjects and a brief presentation of the linguistic differences between the Portuguese of Portugal and the Portuguese of Brazil.
-The African elements in the Caribbean Spanish.
-The tourism of languages of the young French and Germans.
-The Portuguese colonisation of Angola and the role it played in the linguistic situation of the country.
-The Esperanto
The different aspects raised up a discussion between the participants, each one brought his experience and his own knowledge about languages. The lunfardo, the geopolitics of tourism or even the Falklands War, were one of the realities we talked about.
My play was to prepare an introduction article about the different subjects and a brief talk about the linguistic differences between the Portuguese of Brazil and Portugal to show the process of emancipation that the exported languages knew. It was all about brief syntheses and analyses, so that the debate could take place and the questions could be asked.
