A visit to Mar del Plata

By Marie Busquere

In Argentina, August, 17th is a national day since they celebrate the death of the general San Martin known, just like Bolivar, as one of the famous liberator of South America during the Spanish colonization. Indeed he liberated Peru, Bolivia and of course Argentina. Therefore in order to take the best of this long week- end I decided to go to Mar del Plata the most important seaside resort of Argentina situated from some 350 Km of Buenos Aires to the South.
I would recommend you to go there away from the high season in summer because it is full of people and it is very difficult to move.

So after a 7 hour lasting travel by bus along with another trainer of Ciclo, we finally arrive to Mar del Plata.
It’s worth to have a night tour because the lights give a fairy touch to the city and emphasise the casino known as the biggest of the world.

From the casino to the fisher’s harbour you can enjoy a nice walk going through the San Martin’s garden and discover the craft fair to bring cheap souvenirs.

If you want to buy clothes very cheap go to the pedestrian street of San Martin. You will find numerous “paseos de compras” side by side.

Don’t forget that the city is situated along the sea that is why I advise you to take a coat because during the night the air is rather cold.

Hey, I am checking this blog using the phone and this appears to be kind of odd. Thought you'd wish to know. This is a great write-up nevertheless, did not mess that up.
