Graffitis in Ramos Mejía

By Olivier Macé

When I took a walk in Ramos Mejia's streets, I had the luck to cross a disused building which is used to a wall of graffitis. After some researches, I learnt that this warehouse, located in 900 of the street Alvear, belongs to the municipality which gave it to the graffers in a way to express all their art there. Camera in my pocket, I thus returned on the spot to immortalize their work.

Some drawings are only an outline of the high level of Ramos Mejia's graffers, where the North American and European influence prevail as everywhere. The most represented styles on the building are "Wild Style", "Bubbles", "Model Pastel" and also of numerous icons and "Abstract" graffitis. Even if some of them are not very elaborated, there are many others which represent a beautiful sample of specimens, and the amateurs who will come by a roundabout way will not be disappointed of what they will see.

For this place of urban expression, I would like to thank the municipality for the provision of the building and especially the more or less anonymous artists who did it as the authors.
